My house was schedule for foreclosure sell on April 18, 2008. I had 10 days (28 April) to file bankruptcy if I wanted to keep my house. The attorney I talked to wanted too much money to help me. What can I do? I am considering "Pro Bono" Services for assistance. I only receive military retirement pay as income.
Filing bankruptcy will not save your home. Bankruptcy could relieve you of some (or all) of your credit card and other unsecured debit payments which would leave you enough to make house payments but if you are in foreclosure you have likely missed so many payments that you don’t have enough cash to cover them all.
Will your current credit card company look at this after you been a good customer for all these years and still paying but lower your available credit limit or raise your rate?. Again, you have always been on time with them all these years…..
PLEASE this is NOT a question of what is a foreclosure or how long it stays on report I know that. Please answer the specific question. I want to help a friend the best I can… Thanks
Unless your card company is looking for an excuse, it should not. However, card companies are free to raise or lower you credit limit at will. One reason why they might do this is via a risk evaluation. This might give you some dings and may prompt them to lower you limit. The good news is I have a foreclosure and neither of my two cards had the limit changed. Like you, I always payed on time.
I have a lot of foreclosed homes in Columbia,SC that must sell. What is the best way to advertise these properties to potential buyers. I would love to build a data base of buyers that I could email a list of properties weekly.
